HANDS TIED MUNICIPALITIES WHEN HOUSES ARE FLOODED

Until introducing the emergency, Nis municipality of Palilula is powerless to help the population in Novo Selo village and other areas that are vulnerable to flooding and landslides, says the president of the Municipality Boban Džunić. According to him, the introduction of emergency would allow the machinery, large tractors and other equipment without any problems and permits that are being waited these days to arrive at the terrain and resolve the situation within a few days. As he says, back for months with "mighty many letters" he has been informing the competent staff for emergencies, enterprises and governments to drainage the channels in the villages Cokot, Donje and Gornje Međurovo, Novo Selo, so they are neglected and covered, but nothing on this point is done because many of the houses in the flooded parts are illegally built.
